We are thrilled to continue to contribute to an ever-growing urban forest in residential areas of West Laramie by donating and planting 10 trees for homeowners, free of charge.
Why trees in West Laramie? West Laramie has received less botanical attention than other neighborhoods in Laramie, resulting in an underdeveloped urban forest. Trees enhance property values, foster a sense of community pride, and provide habitats for local wildlife. Additionally, they provide shade and cooling effects, reducing energy costs and mitigating the urban heat island effect, especially crucial during ever-warming summers. During our 2024 pilot program, we received so many applications that we knew we wanted to continue the initiative to meet this need.
This September, we're planning a tree-planting event to transform West Laramie into a greener, more sustainable haven. We need your help to make this vision a reality. We’ve applied for a grant from Wyoming State Forestry to cover half the cost, and with your support, we can fund the rest. By donating to our Arbor Day fundraiser, you'll directly contribute to the purchase of saplings, necessary equipment, and the logistics required to ensure these trees thrive in their new home.
Our goal is to raise $1,500 in individual donations.
Your support, no matter the amount, will make a tangible difference. Here's how you can contribute:
Individual Donation: Every dollar counts! Your contribution will directly fund the purchase and planting of trees in West Laramie.
Corporate Sponsorship: Showcase your company's commitment to environmental stewardship by becoming a corporate sponsor. Your generosity will not only benefit the community but also elevate your brand as a socially responsible entity.
In-Kind Contributions: Are you a local business willing to provide materials or services for our tree-planting event? Contact us at commonoutdoorground@gmail.com to find out how you can get involved.
