Please join us and our partners at US Fish and Wildlife for some Wyoming Toad breeding surveys!
We will meet each morning (on the 17th, 18th, 20th, and 21st) at 8:00 AM in the parking lot of the USDA Service Center Laramie located at 5015 Stone Rd in Laramie. From there, we will caravan to the survey property—carpooling encouraged. Plan to be out at the survey locations until mid-afternoon.
Teams of two will conduct visual surveys in pre-established survey blocks to look for evidence of Wyoming toad breeding activity (eggs, tadpoles, etc.). Weather can be variable so please be prepared for sun, heat, cold, wind, or rain (i.e., bring lots of water, hats, rain gear, layered clothing). Rubber boots are necessary for most sites—if you do not have any, we will have a limited number of sizes available to borrow. Please, only wear deet free bug spray and mineral sunscreen. We will have some that you can use, if needed.
Please email joellyn_moine@fws.gov if you would like to participate!
